Segment Gradient

This represents the rise in elevation between two points along the length of the bankfull channel divided by the run (distance) between them. Recorded as a percentage for each measurement sight or used to calculate the segment mean.

There are 6 gradient categories in the SSHIAP database:

1 (<1%)
2 (1 to 2%)
3 (2 to 4%)
4 (4 to 8%)
5 (8 to 20%)
6 (> 20%)
