Abstract Submission
Oral and poster presentations are being solicited on all aspects of health of wild and cultured fish and shellfish including diseases, pathogens, test methods, health management, and intriguing case histories.
Preliminary submissions:
Individuals interested in presenting a paper or poster at the workshop are requested to submit the following:
(a) the title along with a 25 word or less description of their presentation,
(b) whether it will be presented orally or as a poster, and
(c) any equipment needs. The planning committee will use this information to begin developing an agenda for the meeting.
Preliminary submissions should be emailed to western08@nwifc.org no later than May 2nd, 2008.
Formal abstracts will also be required for each oral presentation and poster.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is May 30th, 2008.
Guidelines for abstract preparation:
1. Limit abstract to a single side of an 8.5 x11 page with 1.5 margins on all sides.
2. Type the abstract in Microsoft Word using a 12 point Times New Roman font.
3. Capitalize the first letter of every word in the title.
4. Denote genus and species with italic script.
5. Spacing:
- Double space between the title and authors (use first name, middle initial, and last name)
- Single space between the authors and affiliations
- Double space between affiliation and the main body of the abstract
6. Place an asterisk(*) behind the name of the author who will give the oral presentation even if that individual is the sole author and use numeric superscripts (following the name) to denote affiliations.

Note: If the abstract does not conform in size and format to the above specifications, the organizing committee reserves the right to edit or abridge the abstract without consulting with the authors.
